Get paid online
Connect where the money lands, let a customer pay an accepted proposal by card or bank transfer, and see it land in Received.
Money reaches your own bank account without a cheque in the post, and the payment is recorded against the document the customer actually signed.
Before you start
- A payout account
Where the money lands. Connecting it asks for your password and a six-digit code.
- Two-step verification
Payout changes stay locked until it is on. The Money desk says so and carries the control.
- An accepted, signed proposal
Only a proposal the customer accepted and signed can be paid. A sent one has no agreed figure yet.
Follow the task on screen.

- Step 1. Connect a payout accountOpens payout setup on this page. Asks for your password and a six-digit code.
- Step 2. Payout accountWhere the money lands. The rest of the list is what has already moved.
- Step 3. ReceivedMoney that has actually arrived. Paid proposals appear here in their own group.
- Step 4. UncollectedBilled and still owed. This is the number getting paid online is meant to shrink.

Connect where the money lands
Open Money, choose Payout account in the list on the left, then select Connect a payout account. Setup opens on this page; you do not leave the Money desk. It asks for your password and a six-digit code, the same as a refund.
Done whenThe panel stops saying no payout account is connected and starts showing Available, Pending and your recent payouts.

Turn on two-step verification if it is off
If the desk says two-step verification is off, select Turn on two-step verification in that notice. Refunds, discounts and payout changes stay locked until it is on.
Done whenThe notice disappears and the locked money actions become available to you.

Get a proposal accepted and signed
Build the proposal, then Send to customer and wait for them to accept and sign. Only the option they signed carries a figure anyone agreed to, and that is the figure they will be charged.
Done whenThe proposal moves to Accepted and records who signed it and when. A Pay control appears on the customer's own copy, for that exact total.

Watch it land
The customer pays from their copy by card or bank transfer; there is nothing for you to send. Choose Received on the Money desk to see it arrive. Paid proposals appear in their own group.
Done whenThe payment is listed with the amount that actually cleared. A bank transfer can take a few business days to get there.
You are finished when
The payment appears under Received
The charge is created on your own connected account, in your company name, and FL Permit Pay records it against the proposal once the funds clear.
Where the limits are
- FL Permit Pay never holds your money
- The charge is created on your own connected account and you are the merchant of record. FL Permit Pay is not a party to the funds and never takes custody of them.
- Paid means the funds cleared, not that the customer pressed pay
- A payment is recorded as received only when the money actually clears. A bank transfer commonly takes several business days, and the proposal shows it as on its way until then.
- The amount is the one on the signature
- The figure charged is the total frozen when the customer signed, never a recalculated one. If a signed proposal's prices are edited afterwards the Pay control is withdrawn rather than charging a figure the document no longer shows.
- Online payment has to be switched on
- Taking payment needs the Connect payments feature on your plan and a connected payout account with charges enabled. Without both, the customer's copy shows no Pay control at all rather than one that fails.
Troubleshooting
The customer says there is no Pay button.
Check the proposal is Accepted and signed, not just Sent, and that the Money desk shows a connected payout account with charges enabled.
Payout changes are refused.
Turn on two-step verification from the notice at the top of the Money desk, then retry. Payout changes also need financials access on your role.
The customer paid but nothing is under Received.
A bank transfer takes a few business days to clear and is only recorded when it does. Check the proposal itself: it shows the payment as on its way while the funds are in flight.
