The column reader ships on the customer importer and the job importer today. There is no live connection to any CRM. A confirmation that does not match the columns that arrive imports nothing, and you are asked to read them again.

Step 1
Export the list you already keep
Pull your customers or your jobs out of the software you use now. FL Permit Pay reads the header row wherever it sits, so a report that starts with a title row and a blank line still lines up.
Step 2
Let it read the columns
Your column names go to the assistant as written. What is in the cells goes only as its shape, never as what it says. A column it cannot place is marked skipped, not guessed at.
Step 3
Confirm what each column becomes
Every column on one screen: the field it will fill, and the first values out of your own file, read in your browser. Anything it was unsure about is flagged. Change it, or leave the column out.
Step 4
If the columns are not the ones you read, it stops
Your confirmation is tied to that file's header row and to your company. If what reaches the server is not what you approved, nothing is imported: you are asked to read the columns again, not matched by name.

What this does not do

There is no live connection to any CRM. FL Permit Pay reads a file you export. Nothing is pulled from Buildertrend, JobNimbus, AccuLynx or Jobber on a schedule, and nothing is written back to them.

If you skip the column review and import anyway, the columns are matched by name, the way the importer always worked. A Buildertrend grid is the one to watch. Put through the general importer with no columns confirmed, its own totals line arrives as a record. Send those exports to the Buildertrend importer.

Column headings are sent to the assistant as written, so a person's name inside a heading is sent with it. Cell values are not. Every letter becomes a and every digit becomes nine, so a phone column arrives as a phone-shaped pattern and never as anybody's number.

The reading is a proposal, never a decision. If the assistant is not on your plan, is switched off for your company, or cannot be reached, the columns are matched by name instead. The screen says so before you confirm.
